Our Story
About us
Advanced Car Hire has been family-owned and run from Windhoek, Namibia since 2003. We're not a global chain. Every vehicle that leaves our yard has been personally checked by our own team, and every journey starts with a real conversation with someone who knows the roads.
We specialise in self-drive 4x4 and camper rentals across Namibia and Southern Africa, built for travellers who want the freedom of the open road without the fear of being stranded on it. That's why every rental includes live GPS safety tracking, 24/7 roadside support, unlimited kilometres, and a free tyre and glass waiver, not as marketing extras, but because we know what can actually go wrong on a Namibian gravel road, and we've built our service to prevent it.
From your first enquiry to a hands-on vehicle handover, usually 45 to 90 minutes covering everything from 4x4 operation to your camping equipment, our team makes sure you leave knowing exactly how to handle the vehicle, the roads, and whatever the journey brings.
Our fleet of around 80 vehicles, from the compact Suzuki Jimny to fully kitted Toyota Land Cruiser campers, is ready for self-drive trips into Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Malawi. With a 4.6-star rating from over 440 travellers, we've spent two decades learning exactly what first-time Namibia self-drivers need to feel confident behind the wheel.

"It's Just..." | Creative campaign
– with Cheelot Creative Visuals
“It’s Just” was created for Advanced Car Hire as a campaign built on minimalism and contrast.
Featuring our Luxury Camper Toyota Land Cruiser, the phrase "its just" itself feels simple, almost understated at first, yet the visuals tell a completely different story of vast gravel roads, rooftop camping in total isolation, and dunes glowing at sunrise.
The strength of the campaign lies in that contrast between the word just and the scale of what unfolds on screen. That tension is what creates the emotional impact.
